Guest Riders

Want to find out what we’re all about? We’re happy for potential members to come along to up to two club only sessions without signing up. After that, you’ll need to officially join the club. Have a look at the calendar for information on when events and sessions are happening.

Summer Schedule

Attending one of these a week is a great start’. If you’re really serious about getting fit and strong, aim for 2-3 of them

Bike Skills + Technique

When- Second and Fourth Mondays 19:30 – 21:30
Meeting- Northwall Road, E20
Distance- Varied

Fortnightly coached skills training. For those that aren’t planning on racing it’s a chance to keep perfecting the basics and increase confidence in handling and techniques. Cones will be used to create dead turns, slaloms and corners. Racing riders will also work on standing sprints and race craft. We try to keep these sessions varied and fun. Any bike will do!

Road Circuit Laps

When – Thursday 19:00 – 20:30
Where – Lee Valley VeloPark
Cost – £4 pay and ride

Casual laps of the road circuit at Lee Valley VeloPark. A mix between structured and unstructured sessions dependent on the group. There will be someone to guide the group towards everything from chatty laps to chain gang. Dress for the weather and make sure to bring water. If you are new to group riding, ideally come out for a few of these before starting a weekend ride.

Weekend Social Ride

When – Changeable
Meet –  Outside Lee Valley VeloPark
Distance – 50-60km

During the summer, with many riders off racing we aren’t able to commit to regular rides for guests. However, lots of group riding is going on that is organised between members. Routes are usually based on a 40-60km loop that heads out from Lee Valley VeloPark towards Epping Forest and into the lanes of Essex. Depending on the group it can be reduced or extended as required.

Bring a couple of spare inner tubes and your own pump. We will stop as a group for any mechanical issues, over winter dress for the conditions.

Winter Schedule

Once the clocks change and the days become shorter, we switch to indoor sessions.

Roller Sessions

When – Monday 19:00 – 20:00
Where – Lee Valley VeloPark
Cost – £10 / £5 for LVVP VeloStudio members

Weekly roller sessions headed up by Velociposse coach Matt. Open to the public but Velociposse members more than welcome to take part. Rollers are a great addition to any training regime, used to increase leg speed, pedalling technique and core stability. Even just increasing confidence on the bike and improving balance. No prior experience necessary, Matt will get you spinning, so try something new and surprise yourself. Don’t worry, there will be something to hold on to!
Bring either a road or a track bike, rollers are supplied and session will be run on the track centre of the velodrome.

Club Track Session

When- 13th January 2018, 17th February 2018, 17th March 2018
Where- Lee Valley VeloPark
Cost – £10 or £25 for all three Book Here

We are fortunate enough to have 3 different track mornings booked from January – March 2018 at the Lee Valley VeloPark. The sessions will be part paid by the club funds, meaning it will be as cheap as possible. Session price is £10, which goes towards the hire of equipment and additional coaches. Maybe even a derny!

The morning will be split into 2 groups on the track. One for those with some track racing experience already and another as a taster with some bunch skills. 3 x 20 minute slots on the track, with time to spin on rollers and chat race tactics in between. No previous experience necessary and no minimum track accreditation level required.
There will be progression between the three sessions and a bundle deal £25 instead of £30 if you sign up to all three.

When- Weekly/occasional
Meeting- Lea Rowing Club

We have a weekly weights/strength training session for members over the summer, and occasionally club-only yoga classes too.

Spread the Shred!

When- Coming Soon
Where- Haggerston BMX Track

Following the success of the notorious Fixie skills sessions at Netil Market we’re taking over Haggerston BMX track to spread the shred. Come join us and get down with 20 inches and a freecoaster with our resident BMXer Imogen Thea. We’ll sort you out with bikes and helmets and give you pointers to get you pumping round the track (possibly some 360 turndowns for fast learners). Alternatively bring some tinnies, chill on the grass and watch the madness/radness unfold.

£3 entry covers bike helmet and track hire.
